Is The Darkest Dungeon stressful?
The first game is Darkest Dungeon which was released in February 2015 and is a role-playing, strategy game available on Nintendo Switch and PS4. In the game, players lead a group of heroes on a dangerous descent, dealing with enemies, threats and other dangerous situations. It is a side-scrolling adventure perfect for quick thinkers!
Darkest Dungeon is a very difficult game to work your way through. Even from the first couple of levels, it proves itself a challenge. It is hard to find the right resources and clues to level up the game into the next section of gameplay, it’s very hard to find and obtain coins which are crucial for getting through the game. Any experienced player in the game or horror fan, in general, may have a slight advantage as the game is doable, however, a brand-new gamer or inexperienced player may struggle.

Is Mario the Lost Levels hard?
Next up is a much more well-known game, Super Mario Bros. This long-lost game called The Lost Levels was released in June 1986 and is available on 3Ds, Nintendo and Nintendo Switch. In this Japan-only sequel, Mario and Luigi are back and are on a mission to save Princess Toadstool and the Mushroom Kingdom from Bowser. (Princess Toadstool was Princess Peaches original name before it was changed.)
This game is a lot more challenging than other Mario games. The game includes new characters, which prove to be tough to crack. Poison Mushrooms for example return the player to previous levels or redirect the player mid-air. This makes the gameplay very long due to the enemies pushing you back out of nowhere. To many, the length of the game makes it feel unbeatable.

Does Bloodborne have difficulty?
Bloodborne was released in March 2015 and is a PS4 survival, horror game. The steampunk city of Yharnam holds bloodthirsty beasts that only come out once a year known as ‘The Night Of The Hunt’, the player takes control of the Hunter who is out on that night trying to seek the truth.
Bloodborne requires consistent reflexes and quick-timed actions. At the same time, there is very little protection throughout the game, it doesn’t allow you to rely on shields meaning less protection and even less time to think when defending yourself leading to quick deaths and frequent mistakes.

Is Elden Ring a difficult game?
Next up much more recent game, Elden Ring, released in 2022. The action-role playing game is available on PlayStation and Xbox and is based on the Lands Between which were blessed by the Greater Will who sent down a magical object of great power called the Elden Ring. It isn't an actual ring to wear, but it changed the Lands Between.
In this game, skill and precision are needed to overcome bosses. It’s important for a player to learn the enemy's attack and utilise its weaknesses to succeed in the challenging gameplay. If you don’t take these tips into account (or don’t know about these tips), it can be virtually impossible to succeed.

Is Dark Souls very hard?
Dark Souls was released in September 2011 and is an action, role-playing game available on PlayStation and Xbox. Players control a cursed undead who is locked away in an asylum. After escaping, players travel to Lordran to ring the ‘Bells Of Awakening’ to uncover the truth about their fate.
In most video games (and this one) ‘losing’ the game happens when you die. In Dark Souls it is also a sign of failure. However, the developers noted that death is important in a player's life both virtually and physically, so it is very, very unlikely you will complete the full game without dying once meaning the game was literally designed for you to lose.

Is Contra one of the hardest game ever?
Getting towards our more difficult games, next is Contra, the February 1987 game which is a run-and-gun game on on the Japanese arcade-style video games. Contra is set in the future in 2633AD, where the Evil Red Falcon Organisation has set a base in Galuga plotting to wipe out humanity.
In Contra, if the player gets hit once they lose a life along with any weapon they are currently in possession of. This means any attack, no matter how big or small from an enemy is very dangerous as it could lead to all your progress and tools being lost.

Is Sekiro a tough game?
Sekiro was released in March 2019 and is an adventure video game on PS4 and Xbox One. It’s time to step into the role of a disgraced warrior who has been brought back from the brink of death. It’s your mission to rescue his master and exact revenge on his nemesis.
This game is very heavy on precise timing and reflexes. Players need to perfectly time their dodges, attacks and movements to overcome enemies. Error is very likely within the game, but the consequences are huge, making it a challenge to consistently perform up to top standards.

Cuphead was released in September 2017 and is a platform shooting game available on Nintendo and PS4. In Cuphead, the game follows a teacup-headed character and his brother who make a deal with the Devil to pay their casino losses by repossessing the souls of runaway debtors. It’s an exciting multiplayer game perfect for playing with your friends.
Bosses in the game have much more health than players do, putting them at an automatic advantage. The fast-paced action plus multiplayer disadvantages make the game hard to conquer.

What is the best difficulty for Ghost N Goblins
Ghosts ‘n Goblins is our second-place choice for the most difficult video game in history. It was released in September 1985 and is a platform shooter game for Android. In the game, the player takes on the role of Arthur who is a knight that must venture into the Demon Realm village to rescue his princess.
The hardest part of this game is the variety of lives you can gain and lose within the game. Some boss's attacks will only damage your health, whilst some enemies may kill you off in one hit. It’s hard to know which one will be the fatal one. The player can also only earn a certain number of lives back, meaning you could be losing lives quicker than you are gaining them.

Is Ninja Gaiden easy mode?
Our number one position for the trickiest video game in history is Ninja Gaiden, the 2004 release action video game for Nintendo arcade and console. Ninja Gaiden follows a ninja called Ryu Hayabusa who is seeking revenge for the death of his father and gradually finds himself involved in a sinister plot that threatens the whole world.
Fully completing this game has been described as the ‘hardest achievement in gaming’, and this can be proven even within the first couple minutes of gaming. It has 5 levels of difficulty, even the first level shows some challenging inputs. The game requires intense planning and strategies to make it through the levels, and if you don’t have the knowledge for it, it can be impossible to overcome.
