What is the difference between Planet Coaster 2 and 1?
One thing we automatically noticed with Planet Coaster 2 was the immense upgrades from the previous game. With an impressive 8 year gap between the two games' release, we were expecting huge differences in this game to really set it aside from its previous version, and it certainly didn’t disappoint.
The biggest change within this game is the option to create a waterpark instead of a theme park. In the original, whilst water rides were available to customise and create, dedicated waterparks weren’t available whereas in the new game, there is the choice.
There is a lot more customisation in this new game unlike the original. In PC2, gamers can use tools to add personal touches to the rides, instead of having to settle with the pre-created roller coaster settings. For example, additional scenery can be added to rides and coaster carriages/cars to make it feel a lot more personal to you. Management in the second game is a lot more intense, players have a lot more to deal with to ensure their park stays open. In general, we noticed the game's graphics are a lot smoother with the characters moving more freely and naturally and the graphics just overall looking a lot sharper, we knew this would be one of the changes due to technology advancing over the previous 8 years.

Improvements:
One thing we noticed when checking out the game and looking at the game's official website is that +Planet Coaster 2 is a brand new game, so any progress from the original game cannot be sent over to the new one. Whilst the original game is still supported in terms of updates and console gameplay, we know it will no longer be the focus of Frontier Developments, so it almost feels like you have to buy the new game. It’s a shame files couldn’t be moved over as gamers have spent years developing their theme parks just for them to become forgotten.

Conclusion:
Overall, we really enjoyed this game, it’s great to see so many upgrades to the game since its original 2016 release in terms of graphics, performance and gameplay. The new game is definitely an upgrade to the previous one and we cannot wait to see how creative gamers get designing their new worlds!
