What will happen in Tekken 8?
Tekken 8 is set 6 months after the death of Heihachi Mishima. The story follows Jin Kazama who is on an adventure to ambush the evil and villainous Kazuya Mishima in Manhattan, however, the operation fails, and the battle begins, killing millions in the city. In the game, players dive into the evolving story between Kazuya Mishima and Jin Kazama whilst fighting in Manhattan. Which is based on a real life location in New York with a daytime version being found in the game.
Players have praised this game for being very busy and active, the gameplay is especially engaging as the game progresses. However, one negative lot of gamers mentioned was the fact the game requires previous knowledge to play. As there are a few references to past games and characters.
What is good about Tekken?
The storyline of Tekken 8 is extremely immersive, with plenty of combat and fighting filtered throughout. The gameplay has unreal fighting elements and systems which have been highly praised for being much aggressive compared to previous years. As well as this, there are lots of characters within the game for players to interact with and control. In fact… there are over 30 characters! Players can focus on side characters more now as well as the main characters, there’s plenty for players to do while gaming!
It was also revealed Tekken 8 is the first fighting video game to use Unreal Engine 5, which will make the game appear phenomenal. Unreal Engine 5 enhances the animation which therefore makes the graphics even more realistic and impressive, providing creators with an extensive virtual production toolset.
Along with these positive improvements to the graphics and storyline, Tekken 8 greets users with some brand new features including a new aggressive combat system bringing fresh tactics to the game. Let’s explore this further.

Will Tekken 8 have rage?
As we mentioned, Tekken 8 has introduced a new system feature called Heat System and Rage. This is designed to keep the action at a high whilst also incorporating new styles.
Heat System – A mechanic giving players temporary enhanced abilities and attacks. Represented by a meter under the health bar that fills at the start of each round. Provides benefits for a short time before the meter empties.
Rage – When a character’s health drops to a certain level it automatically enters a rage state and its attack power increases. When a gauge gets decreased, this action is automatically activated.
Negatives:
Tekken 8 seems to have been a huge improvement to the previous games, gaining lots of praise amongst players. But despite this, we still like to find a couple of improvements we feel the game would need to make it even better.
One of these is definitely that the storyline expects prior knowledge before playing, there are lots of references to past characters and plots, so background knowledge is recommended when playing. Although the game can be completed without playing the other games, some aspects of the game can confuse if you are going in completely new.
