Is GTA 6 finally here?
It’s been a long 10 years since the release of the 5th grand theft auto game, with fans desperately anticipating a new release to the franchise. And now a whole decade later, it looks like Rockstar is back with a new addition, set to be bigger and better than ever! In this blog, we take a look at what has been revealed in the new GTA 6 trailer and announcement info, showing you what is expected to be included within the new game, so, let’s get into it!
When GTA 6 will release?
Is there a release date for GTA 6?
Rockstar has confirmed the game to release in 2025, around 12 years since the last game came out. It is unclear what the exact date of the release will be, considering the series' previous games haven’t followed a specific release month pattern. With the latest game coming out in September 2013, the 4th releasing in April 2008 and 3rd in October 2001, it is difficult to predict what the release window of the game could be as it seems to change with every release.
Past GTA Release Dates:
- GTA 5 - 17th September 2013
- GTA 4 - 29th April 2008
- GTA 3 - 22nd October 2001
- GTA 2 - 30th September 1999
- GTA 1 - 28th November 1997
What consoles will GTA 6 be released on?
But although we cannot confirm a release date, we can confirm what gaming platforms the game will release on. It has been announced the new game will release on PS5 and Xbox Series X/S but there has been no mention of a possible PC release. Fans are hopeful however, that Grand Theft Auto 6 will follow previous release patterns, where it is released on console first and then arrives on PC slightly later. There has, however, been no mention of gta 6 ps4 will happen, or GTA Xbox One.
Is there a trailer for GTA 6?
The official GTA 6 announcement trailer was posted by Rockstar earlier this week. (one day early in fact due to GTA 6 leaked footage) But despite this leak, the game has ramped up massive attention, gaining over 100 million views on Rockstars official YouTube account within 1 day!
By looking at the trailer, we can see the GTA 6 map takes us back to Vice City in Leonida in what looks like one big, open-world map taking Vice City to completely new levels. We also get a preview of the game's settings, vehicles, characters and more… and there is a lot to unpack. One of the main reveals we get in the trailer is a new main character called Lucia. Spotted wearing prison clothes and shown numerous times with a currently unnamed male character who we predict is the other main character, we cannot wait to see what these characters will be getting up to. We expect more information will be revealed about these two and other characters as the time gets closer to the release date.
Where will GTA VI take place?
What city is GTA 6 going to be in?
Whilst the original game, which was released in 1997, was set in 1986 Liberty City, San Andreas and Vice City, the 2025 6th instalment takes players to a much more modern-day setting. Again, revisiting Vice City, players get the experience the City in a brand new way, flooded in neon, modern lights the location has been described as ‘the biggest, most immersive evolution of GTA yet’.
Fans also noticed, comparing the original 1997 trailer to the 2025 one, that the City appears a lot more detailed and realistic, with stunning new, sharp graphics.
Conclusion:
Overall, besides getting a new original trailer, there is still a lot about the 6th instalment that remains unknown, we cannot wait for more to be revealed like further information on the GTA 6 gameplay within the next couple of years before the game's release date! News on GTA 6 pre-order dates is still unclear, but we will be here with consistent updates on the game as they are announced. So what do you think of the new game, will you be playing it? Do you think it’s worth a 2 year wait?
