Over the years, gamers have been blessed with some incredible video games that will forever be unforgettable. Some started never-ending series like SIMS and GTA and some began ultimate universes like Super Mario and Sonic. But what about those games that have managed to slip our minds? We have delved deep into the gaming archives to find some of the best and most iconic video games we wish would return, let’s get into it!

Was Wii Sports a success?
Wii Sports was available on the Wii and was released in 2006.
It was a sporting simulation video game that took part in a Wii sports resort, players could compete against their friends and family in numerous Wii sports resort games sporting events like tennis, bowling, baseball and more. It was a simple video game perfect for sporting fans and gamers who have never kicked a football! It was the ideal party game guaranteed to get everyone up and off their feet.
Despite its success, the game stopped being made a couple of years after the Wii was discontinued in 2013 and eventually, Nintendo Sports was made on the Switch, though it was never quite the same or as iconic.
When was LEGO Friends popular?
Our next game was a 3DS own game which was released in 2013.
Lego Friends was a social simulation game that was based on the popular Lego Friends sets and Lego Friends characters. Players control a young girl to comes to Heartlake City to visit family. Players must help their family, friends and the rest of the city with various tasks to unlock new clothing, hair, locations, pets and more. It was a great game for younger audiences who wanted to pass some time or game on the go due to the fact it was a game that could be stopped at any point, meaning long-time or short-time gameplay was easy.
As popular as this game was, eventually sales decreased when the 3D console was discontinued in 2020.
Why is Mario Party 9 so different?
Mario Party 9 was an infamous Wii party game which released in 2012.
In the Mario Party 9 video game, 2-4 players compete in an interactive board game, playing different mini-games and trying to get ahead of the other players. Take part in 80 exciting mini-games, adventurous levels and competitive challenges to beat the game!
The Wii was discontinued a couple of years after this game was released. Mario Party 9 was the last party game and the last Mario game to ever be released on the Wii.
When did Bubble Bobble come out?
Bubble Bobble was a Gameboy classic released in 1990 and then shortly on the Nintendo Switch in 2018 in a ‘30V1’ video game.
Bubble Bobble was the first game developed for a handheld console. It starts with the main character Bub, who must find the Moon Water from Super Drunk Jr to help cure his brother Bobby of a surprise illness.
The second game was eventually cancelled by both GameBoy and Nintendo Switch so we never got to experience Bubs sequel.
What is the Pokemon pinball generation?
Pokemon Pinball was another GameBoy classic.
Players attempt to collect coins to purchase various gifts from the shop. At the same time, players must try to lose no balls or else the game would be over. Whilst coins are being collected, players try to complete the Pokedex like in other Pokémon titles.
The original game was released in 1999 however, the sequel was cancelled, and the DS Pokemon pinball game 2006 edition was cancelled with no real explanation. We assume this was because newer, bigger games were doing much better.
Was Tomodachi Life popular?
Tomodachi Life was a simple 3DS console game that was released in 2014.
In Tomodachi Life, players take ownership of a small town, they create their characters and look after their needs whilst unlocking new sections of the town. Help your Miis find friends, get married, move house, have kids and more and you manage your money and help your characters survive!
It was one of the most popular 3DS games to be created however it never made a comeback when the Switch was released in 2017. This was very upsetting to many Tomodachi fans and ever since gamers have been constantly requesting a Tomodachi life reboot on the new console.
What made the Nintendo DS popular?
Brain Training was released on the DS in 2006.
Complete various brain-tasking challenges like word searches, quizzes and sudoku to help improve your knowledge.
It was discontinued in 2014 when the DS was cancelled worldwide. This choice was made to focus on the development of the Nintendo Switch which was released 3 years later.
Why was Xbox Kinect discontinued?
Kinect Adventures was an iconic family favourite released on the infamous Xbox 360 console in 2010.
Take centre stage and interact with the game, taking on various mini-games like river rafting, covering the leaks, space pop and more! It is perfect for multiplayer but also single-player gaming and is great for getting you up off the sofa forcing you into the game itself.
Despite its exciting gameplay and competitive edge, the Kinect for the Xbox was discontinued in 2017 along with all the games. Kinect Adventures was one of the most popular Xbox 360 video games and will be missed dearly.

This Xbox 360 & PS3/4 release game in 2013 was any young Disney fan's dream.
Disney Infinity was a quirky video game where players could enter infamous Disney movies like The Incredibles, Monsters Inc., Toy Story and more to complete various challenges. Play as whatever Disney character you want with the character options. Buy real-life characters to strengthen your gameplay and take on new abilities and modes. It was the perfect game for kids and young families and will certainly be missed among many Disney fans.
Much like the other games, it was discontinued in 2016 due to the fact it wasn’t making enough money.
Was Club Penguin popular?
And finally, Club Penguin was a 2005 release PC game that grew a massive following in many online communities.
Club Penguin was an online video game where gamers controlled their little penguin as they lived alongside other online gamers. Make friends, build a home and collect coins to unlock new options, abilities and friendships!
It shut down in 2017 due to a lack of interest, which many Club Penguin fans disagreed with and attempted to start a petition to get the Club Penguin legacy rebooted again, but it was unsuccessful.
